Early Staffordshire Pottery Model of a Fox.

Description

18th century Staffordshire creamware model of a Fox, seated on a mound base with a chicken under his right paw.
Decorated with typical ‘Whieldon’ type oxide colours.
Date: circa 1760 – 1780
Height: 3⅜” (8.5cm)
Condition: Minute chip to one ear and a few small chips to the edge of the base. Part of the right ear was missing in the original firing and is glazed over.
NO restoration at all.
