Very Unusual Condiment Pot / Figure of a Monk, c1830

Description

A very unusual 19th century British pearlware pottery figure of a seated Monk, made in the form of condiment dispenser, perhaps for mustard, the prayer book with rosary is in the form of a lid/cover with one corner notched to make room for a spoon or ladle handle.
Probably of Scottish origin, or maybe Staffordshire.
Date: circa 1830
Height : 7” (18cm)
Condition : Very good, just two chips on the ‘book’ and on the side of the base. No restoration.
