Three 19th century Staffordshire pearlware octagonal nursery plates, with moulded floral pattern borders picked out in enamel colours, the centres transfer printed in black with a nursery scene, variously inscribed
“Hush my dear lie still and slumber. Holy angels guard thy bed. Heavenly blessings without number, Gently falling on thy head”
“The tulip and the butterfly Appear in gayer coats than I. Let me dress’d fine as I will. Flies, worms and flowers exceed me still.”
“How glorius is our heavenly King. Who reigns above the sky. How shall a child presume to sing His dreadful majesty?”

Condition : Minor wear,a few tiny glaze chips,  no damage or restoration.
