The front of the base inscribed : ‘No! Am I a Gentleman? / Upon your Soul tho’ Mother’
Probably by Enoch Wood.

Condition: Very good, just a few tiny glaze chips. No restoration.

*John Liston (1776-1846) was an English actor who excelled at performing comic roles. Sam Swipes was a character in ‘Exchange No Robbery’ by Theodore Hook. Sam Swipes was one of many characters he played.
