Early 19th century Staffordshire pottery group of ‘The Flight into Egypt’, depicting Joseph leading the donkey carrying Mary and baby Jesus.
Pearlware decorated with overglaze enamel colours.
* This example was made without bocage, just a simple tree stump to provide support for the donkey during firing.
Date: c1820
Height: 7¼” (18.5cm)
Condition: Restoration to : Joseph’s neck and both hands, Mary’s right hand, donkey’s ear.  A few small unrestored flakes and minor wear.
