Staffordshire Pottery Figure of a Fisherwoman.

Description

A crisply modelled early 19th century Staffordshire pottery figure of a fisherwoman, holding fish in her apron, a wicker fish trap at her side, on a square base decorated with a seashell and a Lobster.
Probably emblematic of ‘Water’ from a set of the four elements.
Pearlware decorated with overglaze enamel colours.
Date: circa 1820
Height : 6″ (15cm)
Condition : Small chip to brim of bonnet restored, one finger of left hand and a few paint flakes.
