Description
An attractive 18th century Staffordshire saltglazed stoneware small teapot with moulded ‘crabstock’ spout, hand painted in polychrome enamels with a man playing a flute and a lady dancing, surrounded by flowers and a decorative border.
Original handle & handle of lid missing, fitted with early metal ‘improvised’ replacements.
Circa : 1760-65
Height : 3¼” (8.2cm)
Condition: Fine body cracks, chips to tip of spout & chips to rim of lid (see photos)
