Pair of C18th Bow Figures – Liberty & Matrimony

Description

An attractive pair of 18th century Bow porcelain figures of ‘Liberty & Matrimony’, a girl holding an open birdcage and a man holding a nest containing three young birds.
‘Anchor & Dagger’ marks to reverse, painted in red.
Date: circa 1765
Height : 8¼” (21cm)
Condition : Overall condition is fairly good, the girl has a tiny old repair to a chip on her hat, there are chips and losses to the flowers & leaves. The boy: has some chipping to the side of his jacket and a section of the bocage has been reattached and is slightly discoloured, there are chips and losses to flowers & leaves. (restoration/tidying up can be arranged at cost)
