Late 18th century English creamware oval chestnut basket with twisted rope effect handles. Transfer printed in black with a country scene of a man fishing on the riverbank, a small bridge & a cottage in the background. The stylized leaves at each intersection of the latticework are all hand painted in black enamel.
Probably Wedgwood, printed by Sadler & Green.
