18th century Chelsea-Derby period large figure of a girl holding a bird in her left hand & a small trumpet in her right, standing on a raised mound base, moulded to simulate clouds. Emblematic of AIR from a set of elements.
Patch marks and incised model numbers.
Date: circa 1775-80
Height : 10¼” (26cm)
Condition : Small losses to mouthpiece of trumpet and bird’s left wing, glued break to left shoulder & neck. Small losses to bow and end of sash.
* small patch of original kiln debris beside her right foot.
