18th century Worcester (Dr Wall/1st period) soft paste porcelain pierced, oval basket with ‘twig’ handles and applied flowers. Later decorated with a panel of exotic birds, dark claret ground and giding, the exterior with a pale yellow ground and coloured flower heads.
Date: circa 1775+
Length : 8⅞︎” (22.5cm)
Condition : Some damage and old restoration, one handle is a replacement, the other has been re-attached, some old restoration to flowers and leaves (see photos) Glaze spitting and indications of refiring.

AD Comment: A nice decorative piece but it has been round the block a few times… difficult to say quite how much of the decoration might be original, the claret ground and some of the gilding is definitely suspect but hey, its cheap!
