Description
An unusual early 19th century Chinese export ‘soft paste’ porcelain saucer, hand painted with the so called ‘Elephant’ pattern, copied from a Staffordshire blue printed design used by Rogers and other potters.
*It is rare to find Chinese porcelain which is a direct copy of an English design at this period.
Circa : 1820
Diameter : 5½” (13.8cm)
Condition: Typical crazing associated with ‘soft paste’ wares, minute glaze chips/frits to rim. No restoration.
