18th century Chinese Export porcelain water bottle or guglet, hand painted with a lakeside scene in underglaze blue.
Qianlong period, c1775
Overpainted (‘clobbered’) in Europe with flowers in iron red and gilding.
Slight reduction in height of the neck, probably due to damage, cut down slightly at the time the decoration was added and re-fired. The gilding on the rim matches the gilding in the decoration.
