Chelsea Style Cupid & Lamb Bonbonniére, Samson of Paris.

Description

Continental hard paste porcelain oval bonbonniére, in the Chelsea style, modelled as Cupid cuddling a lamb on a grassy mound, colourfully decorated and painted with flowers on the interior.
Tiny underglaze blue mark, just below lamb’s tail (see photos)
Probably by Samson of Paris.
Date: late 19th or early 20th century.
Height : 1½” (4cm)
Condition : Perfect condition but missing gilt mount and lid (if it ever had one…)
