C18th Chelsea-Derby period figure of a seated Shepherd, playing bagpipes, a dog sitting at his side, on a raised base with moulded scrolls.
Date: c1785
Height : 6⅞” (17.5cm)
Condition : Overall condition is quite good but there is a glued repair to his neck (*often a weak spot because the head is added as a separate component and is attached with ‘slip’) tiny mouthpiece missing from pipes & there are feathers missing from the front of his hat, the tufts of bocage are a bit scruffy with some chips, losses and old repairs.
