Early 18th century Chinese Imari teapot and cover, with fluted ovoid body, decorated with underglaze blue, iron red, orange and gilding.
* there is some uncertainty about the lid, it is the correct pattern and period but it does not have a ‘vent hole’ and possibly should be a little wider, although it is a good fit and looks great….
Date: circa 1740
Height : 4½” (11.5cm)
Length overall: 6¾” (17cm)
Condition : Small loss to tip of spout which has been ground off slightly, with associated small chips. No other damage and no restoration at all.
