Bristol Pottery ‘Mansion House’ Platter

Description

C19th Bristol Pottery large platter, decorated with hand painted flowers over a faint printed outline. This may be part of the service made by Pountney & Allies who were commissioned by Bristol City Council to provide a large dinneer service for ‘The Mansion house’ in Queen’s Square, Bristol. Most pieces were marked ‘MH 1828’ painted in red. This piece is unmarked.
An old label to the reverse indicates that it once belonged to Sophia Fry….(see photos)

Width: 12½” (31.5cm)
Condition : Very good, just minor surface wear from use. No damage or restoration.
