Bristol Porcelain Saucer – Leinster Service.

Description

C18th Bristol (hard paste) porcelain saucer from the Leinster service, decorated with the initial ‘L’ below a ducal crown within an oval medalion and border festoons of green and gilt laurel, a gilt band and dentil rim.
* made for the marriage of the 2nd Duke of Leinster to the daughter of Lord St. George, in 1775.
‘X’ mark in blue & ‘3’ in gilt.
Date: c1775
Diameter : 5″ (12.7cm)
Condition : Very faint glaze ‘stars’ to centre, some wear to gilding from use. No restoration at all.
