Description
A very large and impressive 18th century Derby porcelain figure of Jupiter, ‘King of The Sky & God of Thunder‘ with an Eagle at his side and holding a Thunderbolt in his right hand, standing on a scroll moulded mound base.
‘Patch marks’ to underside of base.
Date: circa 1760
Height :17¼” (43.7cm)
Condition : Restoration to right arm break at shoulder, part of thunderbolt, Eagle’s neck & head breaks, part of eagle’s tail replaced, chipping to edges of cloak and tiny chips to crown etc.
