Samson of Paris Model of an Elephant, Famille Rose Style.

Description

A scarce and very decorative French hard paste porcelain model of an Elephant, decorated in a mixture of Famille Rose and Kakiemon styles.
Painted mark in red.
Edme  Samson & co, Paris.
*There is also an underglaze blue mark, possibly a crossed swords mark, this has been obscured by s small patch of applied slip or white enamel. (see photos)
Date: circa 1890
Height : 5¾” (14.5cm)
Length: 8⅝︎” (22cm)
Condition : Very good, just a tiny restoration to the tip of one tusk.
