18th century Chelsea Gold Anchor period large figure of a man holding a basket of fruit, a dog sitting at his side, on a mound base with elaborate scroll moulding.
Gold anchor mark to side of base.
Date: circa 1760
Height : 9½” (24cm)
Condition : Old restoration to right arm (hand appears to be original) stump of bocage at side of base and part of the brim of his hat. Various chips and losses to flowers etc. (see photos)

AD Comment: A lovely example, showing just how good Chelsea porcelain was, seeing it while writing this, amongst a group of Derby figures, it positively glistens and stands out as superior quality.
Note the delicacy of the ‘gold anchor’ compared to the many ‘fakes’ being passed off as Chelsea on Ebay etc.
