Description

A near pair of early 19th century Staffordshire pottery figures of a male hurdy gurdy player and a female lutist, often known as ‘Flemish Music’.
This pair are unusually set on raised plinth bases with relief moulded figures, depicting a mother and child in the style of Adam Buck.
Pearlware decorated with overglaze enamel colours.
Painted numbers to back of bases.
Date: circa 1810-20
Height : 10¼” (26.5cm)
Condition : Female: just a small repair to the tuning head of her lute. Male: restored crack at back of base only.
