Chelsea Gold Anchor Chocolate Cup c1765

Description

A very decorative 18th century Chelsea Gold Anchor period two handled chocolate cup, cover and stand, decorated with hand painted fruit and vegetable groups, exotic butterflies and a turquoise ground colour, all against a moulded Pine Cone ground, with gilt highlights and dentil edge.
Gold anchor marks and typical ‘stilt’ marks to saucer.
Date: circa 1765
Height : 5⅝︎” (14.3cm)
Condition : Overall condition is good, there is a very faint ¾“ hairline to the saucer, some crazing and gilt loss to the lid (see photos) No restoration at all.
