Staffordshire Pearlware Figure of Douglas, c1825.

Description

A scarce early 19th century Staffordshire pottery ‘theatrical’ figure of ‘Douglas’ portrayed as a bagpipe playing street busker with a wooden ‘peg’ leg.
It is unusual to see this figure without enamel decoration.
Date: Circa 1825
Height:  7″ (18cm)
Condition: A little restoration to part of bagpipes, part of one feather on the hat and the tip of his peg leg, some slight discolouration to glaze.
