C18th Chinese Export ‘Imari’ Tankard (a)

Description

A good early 18th century Chinese export porcelain baluster shaped tankard, modelled after a European metalware design, decorated in ‘Chinese Imari’ style with underglaze blue, overglaze iron red and gilding.
Date: circa 1730
Height : 5″ (12.7cm)
Condition : Short and very faint hairline from the rim, a few small chips and ‘frits’. No restoration.
