Description
An unusual 18th century Chinese export porcelain side handled chocolate pot, with moulded vertical ribbed/corrugated body, decorated win ‘Imari’ style with alternating panels of underglaze blue and orange with ‘iron red’ flower heads etc.
Date: circa 1740
Height : 6″ (15cm)
Condition : A chip to the lid has been restored. No other damage or restoration. Some surface ‘fritting’.
A tiny ‘line’ visible above the pouring spout is an original firing/shrinkage crack, clearly visible from the inside (see photos)
