Description
A very decorative ‘matched’ pair of Bloor Derby figures of Sailor and Lass, standing on scroll moulded bases.
* ‘matched’ because although they are a correct pairing there are differences in the colouring on the bases.
Underglaze blue ‘crossed swords’ mark to base of sailor.
Incised model numbers ‘No 306’ & ‘No 316’ to bases.
Date: c1835
Height : 8½” (21.5cm)
Condition : Female figure has good restoration to the neck, brim of hat & right wrist. Male figure is in excellent condtion with just restoration to his left hand.
Both figures have typical losses to the lacework and small chips to foliage.
