18th century Worcester (Dr Wall/1st period) porcelain large oval stand for a chestnut basket, with hand cut lattice border, relief moulding and twig handles with colourful flower terminals. The centre decorated with panels of european flowers against a ‘scale blue’ ground with gilding.
Square mark in underglaze blue. Oval lid is also included.
* The scale blue ground is original, the rest of the colouring & decoration was added later. The style of flower painting is typical of the first 20 years of the 19th century.

Condition: One handle is a very old replacement, probably gesso around a wire centre, superbly gilded… chips and losses to some of the flowers… no actual damage to the dish itself.
