Staffordshire Pottery Figure of a Shepherd (15279)

Description

A good quality late 18th century Staffordshire pottery figure of a shepherd carrying a sheep over his shoulder, representing the parable of ‘The Lost Sheep Found’
Pearlware decorated with overglaze enamel colours.
Circa : 1785-90
Height : 8¼” (21cm)
Condition: The figure has been restored through the legs, just above the knees,  the original square plinth base is missing.
* The base photo clearly shows that the plinth base was not securely attached during manufacture, you can see where the turquoise enamel has seeped under the edge during firing.
* if the figure was complete & in better condition the price would be around
