19th century Staffordshire pottery ‘Contest’ group of two girls & a boy, with a hat full of fruit on the ground in front of them, set on a raised mound base with moulded scrolling picked out in blue enamel.
Marked ‘WALTON’ on a moulded ribbon at the back of the base.

Condition: Bocage is missing, stump has been rounded over, one girl (rhs) has a replacement forearm. The overall glaze is fairly thin and in a few places the figure feels quite ‘dry’.
