Description
A near pair of very decorative Coalport/Coalbrookdale porcelain large rococco style vases, decorated with applied flowers, cherubs, birds & nests, with colourful fruit and flowers around the rectangular bases which have a simulated marble effect and a broad gilt band.
Underglaze blue script marks : ‘Coalport’ on one, ‘CD’ on the other.
Date: circa 1835
Height : 12¾” (32.5cm)
Condition : Overall condition is pretty good, there is restoration to one corner on each vase and one of the cherubs wings. Various un-restored chips and small losses to leaves and flowers. Both vases show a small amount of painted/gilded plaster at the point where the two sections were bolted together during manufacture.
