A scarce and very appealing pair of 18th century Chelsea Derby porcelain figures groups of two couples courting.
Incised model numbers and traces of ‘patch marks’
Circa : 1775-80
Height : 5¾” (14.5cm)
Condition: Overall condition is very good, there are some chips, losses & minor repairs to the bocage, the ‘proposal’ group has had some fingers & thumbs replaced with associated overpainting which has discoloured slightly, this might be covering a wrist break but I believe that the hands are original. The other group has minor restoration to the ends of his recorder only.
