English Porcelain Coaching Jug


A very decorative 19th century English porcelain large jug, decorated with a scene of the horse drawn coach ‘Honeycombe’ , owned by Henry Charles Lacy & Co, Hanley & Manchester, driven by Robert Hadley. The scene is hand painted over a faint printed outline.
The gilt initials ‘RH’ might well be the initials of the driver Robert Hadley, probably presentation piece, perhaps marking an anniversary or retirement.
Attributed to Samuel Alcock, Staffordshire.
Circa : 1830
Height : 8¾” (22cm)
Condition: Good, some minor surface wear from use. No damage or restoration.
