Derby Botanical Plate.

Description

Late 18th century Derby porcelain plate, finely painted with a botanical subject after the hand coloured engraving published by William Curtis in January 1796. (see photos for a copy of the original print)
Marked & titled in blue enamel : ‘Rubus Odoratus’ – Flowering Raspberry.
Crown,Crossed Batons, ‘D’ and (pattern number) 197.
Circa: 1795 – 1800, England
Diameter:24.00cm (9.45 inches)
Condition: Good, just a very small amount of stacking wear has been touched in. Slight wear to gilding.  No damage or restoration to porcelain.
