C19th Staffordshire Pottery Nursery Plate.


19th century Staffordshire pearlware octagonal nursery plate, with moulded floral pattern border picked out in enamel colours, the centre transfer printed in black with children in a garden, inscribed “The tulip and the butterflu Appear in gayer coats than I. Let me dress’d fine as I will. Flies, worms and flowers exceed me still.”
Date: c 1845
Diameter : 6″ (15.2cm)
Condition : Minor wear a few tiny glaze chips, no restoration.
